How to Customise Your WordPress Website with the built in WordPress Customiser.
Go to WordPress back end, locate themes under Appearance on the left hand bar.
Click the Customize button. This will bring you to a screen which will allow to modify your WordPress theme in real time.
On the left you will see a list of the available options and on the right a live preview of your changed website and how those changes will affect it.
Remember Save Changes before exiting every time (this commits your saves to the WordPress database).
Customiser is great but only for set elements decided by the themes developers.
Different themes allow different functions in customiser. Standard themes will allow you to modify your website title and tagline. To see how it will look on your actual site immediately.
To do this, expand Site Identity tab the Site Title & Tagline can be changed or edited here. As you type you will see the new text showing up in the preview on your right side.
Once you’re happy with the result, simply click Save & Publish button.
You may also change the menu in this page allowing you to switch or alter you main navigation and depending on the theme you footer also. All theme’s do not have footer navigation (refer to your theme documentation)
Customiser also allows you to add widget to your WordPress website.
And to even change to Static Frontpage and blog pages.
These are standard WordPress custom functions but as discussed before any thing else is a theme developers decision.
