Some of us do not worry about the securing WordPress until it is too late. Security, backups and website recovery are to be worried about after the breach.
Spend a small amount of time reading, planning and preparing can reduce the risk of your website being hacked. It is an everyday problem with WordPress Websites.
That is not to say it’s insecure, it’s is the largest website platform in the world. Hackers are waiting to attack it.
Some WordPress Security Vulnerabilities
Typically we think of the obvious things like using strong passwords and keeping WordPress core files up to date. Truth be told, those particular items cover only a small percentage of the total vulnerabilities. Other things that need to be considered include:
- Server vulnerabilities
- Securing files (wp-admin and wp-config and wp-includes)
- Theme security
- Plugin security
- File permissions
- Database security
The list is long and growing. A single plugin is really not capable of covering all the security aspects. And that shouldn’t really be your goal either, after all, managing WordPress security
